Deep Diver

Wreck Diver

  • Certified for wreck navigation and limited penetration

  • Certified in search patterns and underwater lift bags

Course Overview

Each specialty course includes:

Knowledge Development

A classroom or online session covering theory, equipment, and techniques specific to the specialty. Each course uses its own PADI manual or eLearning module.

Training Dives

Confined or open water practice dives where you build the skills for the specialty under close instructor supervision.

Specialty Dives

Guided open water dives applying your skills in real conditions. Malapascua has excellent deep reef walls and accessible wreck sites within easy reach of the island.

Study Materials

Each specialty uses the relevant PADI manual, available as a printed book or digital download and included in the course price.

The PADI Deep and Wreck Specialty on Malapascua gives you access to deeper sites and the famous Dona Marilyn wreck.

You can start the study component before you arrive to save time on the island.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites

PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) required. Minimum age 15 for Deep Diver; 10 for Wreck and Search & Recovery. No prior specialties needed.

Our instructors have extensive experience at Malapascua’s local dive sites and will tailor each session to the conditions and your experience level.

Adventure Dive Credits

If you completed a Deep or Wreck Adventure Dive as part of your Advanced Open Water Course, it can count as credit toward the corresponding specialty. Let us know when you book.

Adventure dive credits are applied when enrolling in the full specialty.

Combine Courses

All three specialties can be combined over 4–5 days. Combined with Advanced Open Water, you’ll be on track for PADI Master Scuba Diver status. Ask about multi-course packages.
