EFR Emergency First Response - 
CPR and First Aid Course

Malapascua Island Rescue diver course

The PADI EFR Course is PADI’s CPR and First Aid certification and several courses are available.

All are non-diving courses, suitable for divers and non-divers, young and old alike. You will receive training in CPR and emergency medical care – invaluable information that every person should know. A current EFR or equivalent first aid/CPR certification is a pre-requisite for PADI’s Rescue DiverDivemasterEFR Instructor and Instructor courses.

The course is split into two parts:

Course Overview

PADI EFR Course

The Emergency First Response course:

  • Follows protocols from the Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR).
  • Satisfies CAL-OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration) CPR requirements
  • Meets CPR requirements for participants seeking certification through the American Council on Exercise.

This course may be appropriate for your business requirements. We can teach it at our facility in Malapascua or at your business anywhere on Cebu island. Group rates are available.

Prerequisites

Everyone can join this course, all techniques taught apply to real life situations and emergencies.

For Divers, we will also discuss dive-related injuries and the first aid required. This course works very well with the Rescue diver course, and we usually try to teach them at the same time.

Care for Children EFR CFC
A special CPR and First Aid course focusing on the needs of children in a medical emergency. A must for all parents and anyone else who spends time around babies and children.

EFR Instructor Course (EFRI)

EFR Instructor Course on Malapascua Island

Anyone can become EFR certified or an EFR Instructor, it is not even required to be a diver. These courses teach first aid and CPR skills that are valuable for everyone on the planet. As well as an adult First Aid and CPR Instructor you will become a Care for Children Instructor and will be able to teach infant and child CPR techniques.

It’s a great way to earn extra income, especially for Divemasters.  It is pre-requisite for the PADI IDC (Instructor Development Course).

EFRI Prerequisites are:

  • Have completed a sanctioned course in adult CPR within the past 24 months
  • Have completed a sanctioned course in basic first aid within the past 24 months

 

PADI OXYGEN PROVIDER

This is a new course from PADI. It is an entry-level emergency oxygen course that also teaches you how to recognize dive illnesses treatable by emergency oxygen. 

Though suited for divers, it is a non diving course also available to non-divers. EFR certification is not needed to participate in this course.
You will learn how to:

  • Recognize diving illnesses treatable by emergency oxygen
  • Properly setup equipment
  • Administer emergency oxygen

In order to be the best prepared buddy a diver have, you should also consider EFR, Rescue and Master Scuba Diver.
