PADI Open Water Touch Course
Designed for pre-study on iPads and Android tablets
PADI continues to lead the way in diver education with the launch of the next evolution in the PADI Open Water Diver experience: the revolutionary PADI Open Water Diver Touch!!!
An industry first, the Touch fuses state-of-the-art technology with proven PADI instructional design to deliver the excitement and experience of learning to scuba dive to your iOS or Android tablet (Android coming soon).
The Touch is a tablet-based version of the popular PADI Open Water Diver course, integrating the PADI Open Water Diver manual curriculum, learning objectives, video clips, quizzes and knowledge reviews into a rich, interactive learning environment.
Since the Touch is a tablet-based application, no internet connectivity is required to view course content once it’s been initially downloaded.
If you want to learn to dive this is a great way to save valuable holiday time and do your studying in advance. It can cut 1-2 days off the duration of your course, giving you more time to enjoy the beautiful island of Malapascua, both above and below the water.

PADI Library App
PADI has also launched the new PADI Library app, currently available for Apple iPad at the iTunes App Store. When you download this free app you receive complimentary access to the PADI Open Water Diver Touch Introduction
The Open Water Touch program is designed for all iPad 2s and higher (iPad 2, the New iPad aka iPad 3, the New iPad with Lightning Connector aka iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini and iPad Mini with Retina Display) running iOS 6.0 or higher.
For the best possible experience, an iPad with iOS 7.0 or higher is recommended.
Android support is coming soon.
It will take you as long to download as the average movie, perhaps a bit longer.
The download is divided into two files; one ("OW Touch") is approximately 1.4GB and the other ("mRDPML) is approximately 40MB. For best download experience we recommend a minimum download speed of 3.0 Mbps with little to no competing activity. Download times vary due to a number of factors but the average range is 45 minutes to 3 hours for the larger file, and 20 – 30 minutes for the smaller file. The faster the speed the faster the download. Although you can download the product with less Mbps it will take substantially longer.
